Senior Community Programs Manager - Remote Australia Employment Service

About the role

Randstad is recruiting on behalf of ALPA (Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation), one of Australia's largest Aboriginal-owned benevolent corporations, for a Senior Community Programs Manager based in Darwin, Northern Territory. The role leads high-level operational oversight across 7 remote sites delivering the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES), acting as a bridge between ground operations and executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise operational authority across 7 remote RAES sites and manage direct reports
• Lead federal government stakeholder engagement and oversee contract deliverables
• Direct onboarding, staff performance management, leadership coaching and pastoral relationships
• Manage budget allocations, review site-level financials and justify operational expenses
• Build rapport with Traditional Owners, Elders, community leaders and external funders
• Drive continuous improvement and adapt to remote environmental challenges

Required profile

• Deep experience in CDP or RAES operational leadership (Operations Manager, Site Coordinator or Senior Community Services Manager)
• Experience in First Nations organisations or remote contexts, including contract management
• Strong cultural competency and ability to lead teams across remote, geographically dispersed locations
• Autonomous decision-making and clear communication skills
• Qualification in Community Services, Business Management or a related field

Mandatory requirements

• Unrestricted manual driver's licence
• NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
• First Aid certification
• Ability to travel to remote communities by 4WD or small light aircraft
• Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances for remote Indigenous communities

• Competitive base salary, 12% superannuation and up to $15,900 salary packaging
