Community Programs Manager

About the role

Randstad is recruiting a Community Programs Manager for its partner ALPA (Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation), based in Darwin with travel to remote communities. The role bridges Yolŋu and Western worldviews by overseeing the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) and driving social enterprise projects that improve the economic wellbeing of First Nations peoples.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the RAES program and manage on-ground teams across multiple remote locations
• Provide strategic support to the community development leadership team
• Manage the performance of social enterprise projects to meet financial and social impact goals
• Set performance metrics, review progress regularly and analyse data to find trends and improvement opportunities
• Develop budget plans, implement cost controls and manage financial performance
• Build relationships with government agencies, NGOs and local community stakeholders
• Lead and inspire remote staff and foster professional development

Required profile

• Strategic leader who respects cultural heritage and can motivate teams in a remote environment
• Significant experience delivering community services, specifically with RAES or Community Development Programs
• Track record managing diverse stakeholder relationships and securing grant funding
• Ability to travel to remote communities by 4WD or small light aircraft, and willingness to undergo background checks and clearances
