Senior Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer

About the role

The Senior Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer will shape how Brisbane residents and stakeholders contribute to Council projects that affect their local communities. You will act as the primary contact for both the community and project teams, ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate community and stakeholder engagement strategies for a diverse portfolio of projects.
• Plan, monitor and report on communication and engagement activities, identifying and managing related risks.
• Build trusted relationships with community members, internal project teams and external partners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engagement practices through reporting and evaluation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and implementing engagement strategies that support project outcomes.
• Strong understanding of best‑practice community and stakeholder engagement approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to manage resources, timeframes and deliverables effectively.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholder groups.

Required skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, including research, writing, editing, proofreading and presentation.
• Ability to plan and manage resources and timelines for engagement delivery.
