Senior Communications Officer

About the role

The Australian National University is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to join the Change & Communications Chapter within Information Technology Services. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how digital transformation initiatives are communicated across the university, ensuring staff, students and stakeholders receive clear and timely information.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver internal communication activities across web, intranet, newsletters, email and other platforms.
• Develop communication plans, craft key messages and create artefacts for digital change projects.
• Manage approval processes, publication schedules and ensure content aligns with ANU’s tone of voice.
• Support internal engagement programmes, stakeholder updates and share project success stories.
• Monitor communication activity, respond to emerging issues and help teams address communication needs.

Required profile

• Highly organised communications professional with experience coordinating across multiple projects.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Sound judgement and the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving digital environment.
• Confident stakeholder manager who can work with project teams, change leads and senior leaders.
