About the role
The Senior Communications Adviser, Corporate Communications, will lead internal communication initiatives for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will shape messaging that supports the department’s vision, mission and strategic priorities across the public service.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deliver and evaluate internal communication strategies for the Secretary, executive leadership team and corporate delivery services.
- Produce high‑quality written and visual content for intranet, electronic direct mail, events, speeches and briefing notes.
- Maintain the corporate editorial calendar and support online and in‑person engagement activities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, program areas and the Public Engagement branch to ensure consistent messaging.
- Identify emerging risks and issues, providing integrated communication solutions.
- Support crisis and peak‑period communications as required.
Required profile
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid work permit.
- Demonstrated experience in senior internal communications or corporate communications roles.
- Strong understanding of government communication guidelines and public sector environments.
- Ability to produce clear, concise and engaging written and visual material.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
