Senior Commercial Analyst

About the role

Icon Water, a Canberra organisation providing water and wastewater services for more than 100 years, is hiring a Senior Commercial Analyst for its Commercial Business Partnering team. The role supports one of the organisation's portfolios by providing financial and commercial insights that inform decision-making and improve performance across operational and capital initiatives. It combines financial business partnering, commercial analysis and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and stakeholders to support business cases, investment decisions, procurement activities and commercial arrangements.
• Identify risks, opportunities and efficiency improvements that deliver value to the organisation.
• Contribute to performance reporting and support major projects across a broad portfolio.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Membership of CPA Australia or CA ANZ, or progress towards it.
• Demonstrated experience as a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant, Commercial Analyst or similar.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance analysis.
• Experience developing business cases and supporting investment, procurement or commercial decisions.
• Knowledge of procurement, contract management and commercial evaluation principles.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with large ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
