Senior Civil Estimator

About the role

The Senior Civil Estimator reports to the Senior Bid Manager and acts as the technical authority for civil estimating across Enerven's tender portfolio. This senior, commercially focused position shapes competitive and profitable bids for major EPC and construct‑only projects in renewables, BESS, wind farms, substations and transmission lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil estimates for major renewables and high‑voltage projects, building quantities, productivity rates, crew and plant build‑ups from first principles.
• Review EPC tender documents, identify gaps, ambiguities and cost drivers, and quantify civil risk and opportunity.
• Develop constructability‑led alternatives and value‑engineering options to lower cost while maintaining compliance.
• Compile subcontractor RFQ documentation, negotiate and assess pricing, and normalise quotes for scope coverage.
• Contribute to tender strategy, bid reviews and handover, explaining civil cost positions to senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and support other estimators to build technical depth across the team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience estimating civil works for EPC or D&C tenders, preferably in renewables, BESS, wind, substations or transmission projects.
• Strong first‑principles estimating capability across bulk earthworks, foundations, piling, concrete, drainage, roads, hardstands, trenching, conduits and temporary works.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports and translate them into accurate quantities and methodology.
• Advanced negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with credibility to influence engineering and delivery teams.
• Highly developed commercial and financial acumen with strong reporting and risk management capability.
