Senior Civil Engineer / Designer

About the role

COMPLETE Urban designs community assets and infrastructure for government, using a multi-disciplinary approach, and is expanding its newly opened Adelaide office. It is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Designer with strong 12D skills to join its Engineering Team. The role involves leading design projects for predominantly government clients in NSW and QLD, with support from the Engineering team and collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues in Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil designs with minimal guidance.
• Build close working relationships with designers, technicians, engineers, architects, project managers and directors.
• Apply and interpret legislative and contractual requirements for each design project.
• Contribute to the growth of the company by helping seek business opportunities.

Required profile

• 3-8+ years of relevant experience in transport infrastructure projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary project environment, ideally delivering civil projects in the public domain.
• Proven background on small to large infrastructure design projects.
• Excellent knowledge of government codes, guidelines, processes and Australian / NZ standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• High to advanced competency with 12D Model and AutoCAD.
• Detailed design construction documentation, including project specifications and drawings.
• Development projects such as road design, stormwater drainage, water sensitive urban design, carparks, cycleways and earthworks.
• Project design reports and construction cost estimates, including quantity take-offs for bills of quantities.
• Stormwater drainage design and WSUD, and MUSIC modelling and Stormwater Management Plans, are an advantage.
