Senior Azure Data Engineer

About the role

A company is looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer to design, build and optimise its enterprise cloud data platforms. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, ensure high data quality and implement robust cloud architecture to support business intelligence and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Pipeline engineering: design, develop and maintain high-performance, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT integration solutions.
• Database optimization: architect structured data models, optimize complex SQL queries and tune databases for maximum performance.
• Data operations: set up proactive pipeline monitoring, data validation frameworks and quality checks to ensure business-ready data integrity.
• Security and governance: implement data governance frameworks, role-based access controls and data privacy protocols to meet strict compliance standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or a related data-centric role.
• Advanced SQL skills, dimensional data modeling and strong troubleshooting capabilities.

Required skills

• Azure stack: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL.
• Production-grade data scripts in Python, PySpark or Scala.
