Senior Audit Manager - Institutional (ex Markets)

About the role

ANZ’s Internal Audit function is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to lead independent assurance across the Institutional portfolio, excluding Markets. Reporting to the Audit Director – Institutional (ex Markets), you will oversee audit engagements that evaluate governance, risk management and control effectiveness for a range of Institutional banking activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute audit engagements across Institutional customer value chains, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Identify material risks, emerging issues and coverage priorities to shape the audit plan.
• Assess control effectiveness, service reliability and regulatory compliance, providing evidence‑based findings.
• Escalate significant risks promptly and follow up on issue remediation.
• Collaborate with audit teams and business stakeholders to maintain high‑quality audit outcomes and promote a speak‑up culture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, preferably within Institutional Banking.
• Strong understanding of Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Digital Channels.
• Proven ability to manage complex audit projects and lead teams.
• Excellent judgment in risk assessment and materiality evaluation.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CIA) are desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting Institutional banking.
