Senior Associate – Financial Lines

About the role

McCabes Lawyers is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join its Financial Lines team in Sydney. The role involves handling complex Management Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Directors & Officers Liability matters.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a diverse caseload of professional and management liability claims, ensuring exceptional client representation and successful outcomes.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior lawyers, assisting in their professional growth and development.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings with expertise and confidence.
• Offer ongoing legal advice and support to clients throughout the entire litigation process.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current New South Wales practising certificate.
• Minimum 5 years post‑admission experience in general insurance, specifically in Management Liability, Professional Liability, or Directors & Officers Liability claims.
• Strong command of Australian tort law, civil procedure, and relevant legislation.
• Proven ability to mentor and supervise junior lawyers.
