Senior Associate - Financial Accounting Advisory Services

About the role

EY is recruiting Senior Associates for its Financial Services Office (FSO) supporting the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. The team delivers finance, treasury and other advisory services on financial product distribution and consumption to banking, insurance, asset management, corporate and government clients. The role reports to a Manager and works closely with Managers and Senior Managers on client engagements. It is open to people with valid Australian working rights and is based in Warringah (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne); flexible arrangements with reduced hours may be possible.

Key responsibilities

• Work across a variety of client and project experiences with EY teams
• Learn on new engagements in both advisory and assurance capacities
• Deliver quality work products (work papers and reports)
• Ensure compliance with EY's quality and risk management principles

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and completed professional qualification (CAANZ or CFA, or equivalent recognised by those bodies)
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Risk or Treasury
• Intermediate proficiency in technical accounting, financial reporting and controls
• Professional, self-starting, able to work in teams and independently
• Open to travel and flexible with hours to meet project deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365
• Advanced written and oral business communication
• Nice to have: knowledge of financial product cash flows, AASB 9 and AASB 13, and tools such as Alteryx, BluePrism, PowerBI or Tableau
