Senior Associate, Administrative Law

About the role

Maddocks is seeking a Senior Associate with expertise in Administrative Law to join its Sydney Public Law team, working alongside Partner Michael Winram. The role offers mentorship, a collaborative culture, and opportunities for career advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Draft summaries of evidence and statements of issues.
• Assist and attend case conferences and hearings, including directions hearings.
• Develop litigation strategies and conduct complex statutory interpretation.

Required profile

• At least 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with government advisory work.
• Strong interest and experience in administrative law, statutory interpretation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
• Excellent technical and drafting abilities, sound judgement and a proactive attitude.
