Legal Counsel

About the role

As a Legal Counsel at Plenti, you will sit at the heart of a fast‑moving fintech lender, working closely with senior leaders to turn ideas into action. You will support new products, commercial partnerships and complex regulatory matters across consumer credit, financial services regulation, governance, privacy and disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal and regulatory advice to business teams, answering ad‑hoc queries and managing legal risk.
• Partner with product and project teams on new offerings, delivering pragmatic solutions that balance risk, commercial outcomes and customer experience.
• Draft, review and negotiate a range of agreements with loan referral partners, funders, commercial partners and service providers.
• Support investigations of potential regulatory breaches, prepare breach notifications and advise on remediation.
• Review promotional, marketing and customer‑facing materials for legal and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in NSW or another Australian State/Territory.
• 2–6 years post‑qualification experience advising financial services firms on the Corporations Act, Consumer Credit and banking/finance regulations.
• Strong commercial mindset, attention to detail and ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
