Senior Architect & Team Leader

About the role

DesignInc’s Darwin studio is seeking a senior architect to lead projects from concept through delivery while mentoring the local team. You will be the primary liaison for clients and consultants and will draw on the firm’s national expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects across all phases – briefing, design, documentation, and construction administration.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and consultants, building strong professional relationships.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including internal staff and external consultants.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.
• Produce and oversee high‑quality documentation using Revit.
• Contribute to project pursuits and business development activities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the NCC, NT regulations and building codes.

Required profile

• Registered architect with 10+ years of end‑to‑end project delivery experience.
• Proven experience leading project teams and managing consultants and builders.
• Strong Revit proficiency and experience producing construction documentation.
• Broad sector experience – Defence, Health, Education, Community or Commercial is highly regarded.
• Experience working on projects in the Northern Territory or other remote/tropical environments is an advantage.
