Senior Android Engineer – Mobile Framework Lead

About the role

As a Senior Android Engineer you will lead the development, maintenance and support of ABC's Android and Android TV applications. You will work within the Framework team to build and evolve shared components, libraries and tooling that underpin all of ABC's mobile products, ensuring they align with the organisation's strategy and technology objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain reusable Android libraries and shared components used across multiple ABC digital products.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mobile product teams, helping them integrate framework assets efficiently.
• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑quality code within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Document public APIs, architectural decisions and usage guidelines to enable seamless adoption by other teams.
• Stay current with industry best practices for Android development and promote their adoption across the organisation.
• Continuously improve development standards, testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building scalable, high‑performance Android libraries and applications using Kotlin.
• Strong emphasis on clean, testable and well‑documented code.
• Familiarity with modern Android architecture components, especially Jetpack.
• Ability to work autonomously on complex, reusable components for a broad user base.
