About the role

At Qantas you will lead a team focused on cutting‑edge technology and engineering principles, based at the new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. The role involves building intuitive, high‑performing mobile experiences that respond to user feedback, enhance engagement and meet evolving customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development and delivery of Android software systems.
• Mentor junior developers and guide the team on efficient design and testing practices.
• Stay current with Android trends and ensure high‑quality, secure code that meets business outcomes.
• Contribute across the full app lifecycle from planning and development to deployment and monitoring.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in Android development on large projects.
• Strong grasp of software patterns, automation and code quality.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical needs across business and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with multi‑threaded, asynchronous programming and server‑driven architectures.
