The role involves building client relationships, pursuing opportunities and improving the quality and efficiency of deliverables.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with fraud, corruption, bribery, financial crime and misconduct investigations, including matters arising from whistleblower allegations, procurement activities and other integrity concerns.
  • Analyse financial records, transactions, electronic information and other evidence to identify unusual activity and support investigative findings.
  • Undertake background research and open-source intelligence enquiries, and help prepare for and conduct interviews with witnesses and other parties.
  • Support clients with fraud, bribery and corruption risk assessments, AML/CTF compliance and financial crime reviews, including assessing existing controls.
  • Carry out forensic accounting and financial analysis, including reviewing financial statements and accounting records, analysing transactions and tracing the flow of funds.
  • Assist with other forensic advisory matters such as commercial disputes, quantification of loss and other financial analysis, preparing clear, evidence-based reports and advice with senior team members.

Required profile

  • A relevant undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce, finance, business or law.
  • Approximately 1-4 years of relevant professional experience, possibly in forensic accounting, audit, financial crime, investigations, risk and compliance, insolvency or corporate finance.
  • Genuine interest in forensic accounting, fraud and financial investigations, with an appetite to develop experience across investigative and traditional forensic accounting assignments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team and manage competing priorities.
  • An interest in, or progress toward, a professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work through financial statements, accounting records and transactions methodically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good attention to detail and an enquiring mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with an interest in developing more advanced financial analysis and data skills.

What we offer

  • A competitive annual bonus program.
  • Training and career development, including personalised mentorship.
  • 26 weeks parental leave and additional leave options.
  • Employee assistance, health and wellbeing programs, and opportunities for social and community engagement.
