Senior Advisor – Business & Tax Advisory (Asia Focus)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Advisor to join its Business & Tax Advisory team within the Asian Business Practice. The role supports China‑connected clients across Australia, helping them navigate tax and cross‑border business challenges. You will work from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne and collaborate with specialists across KPMG Australia, China and the global network.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax and business advisory services to private businesses, family groups and foreign‑invested enterprises with China exposure.
• Prepare tax returns, financial statements, tax provisions and other compliance deliverables.
• Conduct technical research and draft advice on Australian tax and cross‑border matters.
• Coordinate engagement activities, monitor deadlines and maintain project documentation.
• Collaborate with managers, senior team members and global specialists to ensure high‑quality client outcomes.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations and business development materials.
• Stay up‑to‑date with tax legislation and regulatory developments relevant to China‑connected businesses.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax advisory, business services or professional services.
• Strong understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with China‑connected clients or in cross‑border business environments is highly regarded.
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and/or written) is a plus.
• Collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
