Senior Actuarial Consultant - General Insurance

About the role

Marsh Risk Solutions is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant to join its Analytics Solutions team in Sydney, Australia. The role combines technical problem solving with high-value client engagement across complex general insurance actuarial and risk analytics matters, partnering with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders. It is a hybrid position with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver general insurance actuarial and risk analytics work across client engagements with a high standard of quality and professionalism.
• Work directly with clients, external brokers and senior stakeholders to support trusted relationships and strong service delivery.
• Translate technical findings into clear, practical insights for clients and colleagues.
• Apply sound judgement to complex business and risk issues and make balanced recommendations.
• Coordinate across onshore and offshore team members to support delivery and collaboration.
• Support, mentor and at times manage junior team members as the practice grows.
• Contribute to client relationship management and business development as appropriate.

Required profile

• Relevant actuarial or broader insurance industry experience, ideally with exposure to general insurance.
• Experience in an insurer or consulting environment.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and working through uncertainty to provide practical recommendations.
• Actuarial background suitable for appointment at consultant level is a plus.
• Exposure to matrix management, people leadership, project leadership or reviewing others' work is a plus.
• Collaborative approach and experience working across global or multi-location teams is a plus.
