Senior Accountant - Public Practice

About the role

A Senior Accountant is needed to provide quality accounting advice to a range of clients, including some large and complex groups. The role suits a proactive, collaborative person who can work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for clients
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and operating budgets for clients
• Review BAS and IAS, FBT calculations and completion
• Prepare budgets, cash flows, forecasts and correspondence to clients
• Mentor and onboard junior accountants
• Assist with special client work such as tax advice, structuring and business purchases and sales

Required profile

• Minimum 3 to 4 years of accounting experience in public practice
• Bachelor of Business/Commerce, preferably majoring in Accounting, coupled with a CA
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience mentoring and developing others

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of payroll processing for multiple clients and resolving general payroll enquiries
• Experience with external stakeholders, specifically the ATO and Office of State Revenue
• Strong Australian technical accounting, tax and financial reporting knowledge
