Senior Accountant

About the role

A permanent full-time Senior Accountant position is open at the Traralgon office of RGM Financial Group, a well-established financial services firm with multiple offices across Gippsland offering accounting and financial planning services. You will work with a varied portfolio of individual and business clients, delivering high-quality taxation and accounting services while building strong client relationships. The role offers autonomy, flexibility and genuine long-term career opportunities within a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns
• Complete BAS, GST and tax compliance obligations
• Manage a portfolio of individual and SME clients
• Provide professional advice and support to clients
• Prepare working papers and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
• Work collaboratively with the broader accounting team
• Maintain accurate client records using cloud-based accounting software

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA or CA qualified (or currently working towards completion)
• At least three years' experience in Australian public practice
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, BAS and GST compliance
• Visa holders must provide evidence of rights to work in Australia; sponsorship is not available

Required skills

• Experience using Xero and other cloud-based accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
