Senior Accountant - Business Services & Tax

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a top‑40 mid‑tier firm in Australia. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to a diverse client portfolio, delivering bespoke advisory, tax planning and compliance services while mentoring a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team to deliver high‑quality outcomes within strict deadlines.
• Provide multi‑layered business restructuring, tax planning and cash‑flow management strategies.
• Build and sustain deep, trust‑based client relationships by exceeding service expectations.
• Leverage ongoing training to master complex technical assignments.
• Identify synergy opportunities across the firm’s financial services offering.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Business and CA qualification (or nearing completion).
• 5+ years of experience in a public practice environment.
• Strong tax knowledge covering corporate trusts, partnerships and individuals, plus high‑level financial statement preparation.
• Ability to identify and manage risk with a commercial mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
