Security Analyst

About the role

CyberCX is looking for a Security Analyst to join its growing cyber security team. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to protect customers and communities by analysing security events, responding to incidents and improving detection capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform SIEM‑based event analysis, incident triage and coordinate security incidents and projects both remotely and onsite.
• Lead threat‑hunting activities, conduct vulnerability assessments and develop new detection rules and alerts.
• Provide end‑to‑end support for customer and internal systems, delivering operational and project assistance.
• Communicate security issues to internal teams and clients, and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.
• Collaborate across CyberCX to add value, facilitate partnerships and improve service delivery.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in IT or a related field (preferred).
• Industry‑recognised certifications such as SANS, OSCP or ISC2 (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operational security role.
• Strong understanding of security concepts, incident response and management methodologies.
• Experience in large or complex organisations and familiarity with security tools.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance; current or former ADF members encouraged.
