Second In Charge - Out of School Hours Care

About the role

BFS Albion Park OOSH is looking for a Second In Charge to work alongside the Director and help create a positive, engaging environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the centre, builds respectful relationships with families and contributes to the program, while helping keep the service compliant with BFS Children's Services policies, the National Quality Framework and Child Protection legislation. It is a permanent, part-time position with rostered hours Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality education and care to all children
• Contribute to planning educational programs that support a child's learning and meet their goals
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the community
• Support the day-to-day operation of the centre and its compliance with policies and legislation

Required profile

• Diploma of Children's Services or a related qualification (desirable)
• Experience as a support worker, SLSO, OOSH educator/2IC or another role working with school-aged children
• Commitment to keeping children safe and healthy, and to improving the lives of children, families and the community
• A fun-loving attitude and a big smile
• Cleared NSW working with children's check (WWCC) and a cleared National Criminal Record Check
• Completed the National Child Safety Training Foundation Course
• Two referees, one of whom must be a manager or supervisor at your current or most recent workplace
