Scrap Metal Yard Hand – Casual Labour

About the role
Join Glen Osmond Recycling as a Yard Hand, working in a fast‑paced environment handling scrap metal and recyclable materials. This casual position offers above‑award wages and full PPE and training.
Key responsibilities
- Heavy manual handling – unload cars, utes and trailers of scrap metal.
- Lift 20‑30 kg regularly as part of daily duties.
- Sort and identify different metals, bottles, cans and other recyclables.
- Separate aluminium cans, plastic and glass bottles.
- Maintain yard housekeeping and cleanliness.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate with customers.
Required profile
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn metal identification and recycling processes.
- Comfortable working Monday‑Friday 8:30‑16:30, with occasional weekend shifts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Required skills
- Forklift licence (preferred).
