SAP ABAP Technical Consultant (Advanced Business Application Programming)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant to join our team in Sydney on a 6‑month fixed‑term basis. You will design, develop, and optimise custom solutions within SAP S/4HANA environments, ensuring high‑quality code and seamless integration with existing landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable end‑to‑end technical solutions and architect custom applications.
• Develop complex Object‑Oriented ABAP programs, CDS views, and AMDP implementations.
• Create secure OData services, ALE/IDoc integrations, and APIs using RFC/BAPIs.
• Extend standard SAP applications with SAP BTP and perform performance tuning on ABAP code.
• Mentor junior developers, collaborate with functional consultants, and lead technical delivery for large‑scale upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT.
• 10+ years of hands‑on ABAP development experience.
• Proven leadership in technical project tracks.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with excellent English communication.

Required skills

• Advanced ABAP: OO‑ABAP, Enhancements (BAs, BAdIs, User Exits).
• S/4HANA Suite: CDS Views, AMDP, BOPF frameworks.
• UI Technologies: SAPUI5, Fiori, Web Dynpro.
• Forms Engine: Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAPscript.
• Database: Advanced SQL optimisation for SAP HANA.
• Integration: OData (Gateway), ALE/IDoc, RFC, BAPIs, SAP BTP.
