Sales Travel Consultant - Brisbane Bayside

About the role

Flight Centre is hiring Sales Travel Consultants for its Wynnum Plaza store in Brisbane Bayside, Queensland. You will work full-time, on-site in the retail store on a rotating roster covering a 7-day trade, turning your passion for travel into a career.

Key responsibilities

• Plan itineraries, book travel and convert enquiries into bookings in person, by phone and by email.
• Sell the whole holiday, including flights, accommodation, car hire, tours, travel insurance, cruises and transfers, working towards individual KPIs and sales targets.
• Build a customer base of new and returning customers, from regular domestic bookings to international holidays.
• Advise customers on travel-related questions such as visas, best time of year to travel, packing and where to eat.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for travel and a desire to help customers explore the world.
• Determination to meet sales targets and KPIs in a busy, high-pressure environment.
• Great organisational skills, with good note-taking, calendar management and prompt responses to calls and emails.
• Warmth and enthusiasm that makes customers want to book again.

Required skills

• Savviness with computers, able to switch between several complex booking systems to find flights and packages.

• Base wage plus an uncapped incentive structure, earning a percentage of every sale.
• Wage boosted to $65K equivalent for the first 90 days; average first-year earnings of $70K, with Senior Consultants averaging $100K and Team Leaders $138K, including superannuation and penalty rates.
