Sales & Performance Leader

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is looking for a Sales & Performance Leader in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the role leads a team of Direct Sales Representatives and drives business goals through leadership, coaching and performance management. It works closely with Underwriting, New Business, Client Services, Quality Assurance and Customer Application Support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Direct Sales Representatives to meet monthly sales and business targets.
• Drive engagement, capability and performance through coaching, mentoring and development conversations.
• Monitor sales activity, productivity and quality metrics, and conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-one coaching and team meetings.
• Ensure compliance, quality and customer service standards are maintained.
• Identify performance trends, risks and opportunities and implement improvement strategies.
• Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Underwriting, Client Services and Quality Assurance.
• Support workforce planning and prioritisation, and lead onboarding, training and development for new and existing members.
• Contribute to business projects and continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a positive, accountable team culture.

Required profile

• Demonstrated success leading and coaching sales or contact centre teams.
• Previous leadership experience in life insurance, financial services, contact centres or a related environment.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder relationship-building, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High attention to detail, quality and compliance, and good time management.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; RG146 qualification (or willingness to obtain it) is highly regarded.
