Sales Engineer

About the role

The Sales Engineer will support the Area Sales Manager(s) and subsidiaries by providing technical sales expertise for spare parts, repairs and overhauls within the rail industry.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support for spare parts and repair services.
• Assist workshop technicians with assessment of repairs and overhauls.
• Prepare technical sales projects and overhauls.
• Support Area Sales Managers with market‑related technical tasks and maintain dialogue with the Global Support Team.
• Deliver internal training and mentor other sales engineers on processes and tools.

Required profile

• Relevant BSc degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to understand customer needs, communicate solutions and build relationships.
• Hands‑on workshop experience, preferably as a service technician.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of 3D CAD, specifically Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
• Strong technical understanding of rail‑related components such as dampers, honeycombs and crash energy management systems.
