Robotics Engineer

About the role

Anduril’s Maritime Division is seeking a Robotics Engineer to develop perception and planning capabilities for autonomous underwater and surface vehicles. You will own end‑to‑end projects, from system analysis through testing and field deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems for multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Build scalable subsystems such as sensor processing, tracking, motion planning, health management, anomaly detection, and simulation fixtures.
• Integrate advanced computer‑vision, sensor‑fusion, and machine‑learning techniques into vehicle perception pipelines.
• Validate algorithms through simulation and real‑world data analysis, and travel to co‑locate with end‑users up to 20% of the time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python development.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras).
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning or machine learning.
• Ability to act as technical owner for a system, including stakeholder engagement and roadmap management.
• Eligibility for Australian Government NV2 security clearance.
