Rigger / Crane Operator

About the role

Nyrstar Port Pirie is looking for a Rigger/Crane Operator to join its Asset Management team. The role is residential and focuses on keeping site operations safe and efficient. It sits on a 5/4 equal-time roster (4 days on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off), giving two full weekends off each month.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rigging and crane operations under the HRL terms and conditions.
• Carry out lifting work to help the maintenance teams.
• Operate mobile and tower cranes according to the CN and CT licences.
• Work safely and confidently and follow all site safety procedures.

Required profile

• Unrestricted valid right to work in Australia.
• Desirable: experience in a mining/resources industry or similar, and experience in mobile crane operations.
• Desirable: 5 years or more of demonstrated rigging experience.

Required skills

• Intermediate rigging (RI) licence, or willingness to obtain it.
• Non-slewing crane (CN) licence.
• Elevated work platform (WP) licence.
• Forklift (LF) licence.
• Bridge and gantry crane (CB) licence.
• Desirable: tower crane operator (CT) licence and Scissor Lift Yellow Card.
