Restaurant Manager / Supervisor – The Yook

About the role

The Yook in Baulkham Hills is looking for an experienced Front of House Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience while keeping high operational standards. The role covers both front and back of house, including overseeing the dining room, checking in customers and balancing seating capacity. Back of house experience is preferred, as you will also hire waitstaff, set work schedules, oversee food preparation and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily front of house and back of house operations
• Deliver superior service and maximise customer satisfaction
• Handle customer complaints efficiently and accurately
• Organise and supervise shifts
• Appraise staff performance and give feedback to improve productivity
• Estimate future needs for goods
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
• Manage the restaurant's reputation and suggest improvements
• Promote the brand locally through word of mouth and events, and recommend wider reach such as discounts and social media ads
• Train new and current staff on customer service
• Implement policies and protocols for ongoing operations

Required profile

• Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, minimum 3 years (3-4 years listed)
• Proven customer service experience as a manager
• Experience in a Korean BBQ restaurant preferred but not essential
• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
• Good command of Korean and English

Required skills

• Extensive food and beverage knowledge, able to recall ingredients and dishes for customers and waitstaff
• Familiarity with restaurant management software
• Management skills in both front and back of house
