Responsible Manager - Base/Line Maintenance

About the role

Boeing is looking for a Responsible Manager to join its Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team at RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland. The manager is responsible for the operation and regulatory compliance of the C-17 ASSC and Amberley Backshop, which is a DASR Part 145 approved maintenance organisation supporting the C-17 Globemaster fleet and other BDA programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all maintenance, including defect rectification, meets the standards of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs) and the BDA Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
• Work with the Quality and Safety Managers to support the quality and safety management systems
• Investigate and coordinate actions arising from quality compliance monitoring
• Review and update BDA Part 145 and 21G command media
• Manage the regulatory environment under DASR Part 145 and Part 21G
• Provide leadership, promote a safe and healthy work environment and support the MRO Services Operations Manager

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in aviation engineering and maintenance
• Aircraft maintenance engineer qualification
• Ability to achieve Chartered status through Engineering Australia
• Current or previous experience as a Part 145 Responsible Manager is highly desirable
• Willingness to undergo a Government security clearance (Baseline) vetting process sponsored by BDA, with full disclosure of background

Required skills

• Knowledge of and experience with Maintenance Management Systems (highly desirable)
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
