Resident Service Technician - Bus Air Conditioners

About the role

QTK Group, the national supplier of Thermo King bus air conditioning equipment in Australia, is looking for a Resident Refrigeration Technician / Automotive Electrician to join its QTK Bus Australia team. You will service and install bus air conditioning equipment in the Newcastle region, with technicians in Port Macquarie, Nelson Bay, Old Bar and Coffs Harbour also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Service bus air conditioners in the field and perform scheduled servicing, system repairs, onsite installations and maintenance.
• Install bus air conditioners at OEM facilities.
• Respond to callouts for fault-finding and repair across Coffs Harbour, the Central Coast and surrounding areas.
• Occasionally travel to regional towns for short stays.
• Maintain job reports on a tablet, complete pre-start checks and other documentation, and keep customer records up to date.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and presentable.
• Support sales activities through equipment assembly, testing, warranty inspections and repairs.
• Follow QTK's safety and operational procedures.

Required profile

• AAC02 Refrigerant Handling License; applicants without it are invited to apply for a 6-12 month traineeship or RPL.
• Working at heights certification (obtainable after joining).
• Current driver's license.
• Right to work in Australia permanently.
• Experience in bus air conditioning is preferred, but qualified auto electricians and mechanics are welcome as training is provided.
• Excellent customer service, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and flexible to 24 x 7 support hours.
