Resident Field Service Technician

About the role

Komatsu Australia is looking for a Resident Field Service Technician to support customers across the Canberra region. You will be the go-to expert keeping some of Australia's hardest-working machines up and running, working with the backing of one of the world's leading equipment manufacturers. The role is based in Canberra, NSW, on a day shift from 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Komatsu equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance.
• Use advanced diagnostics to solve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Work safely while delivering quality workmanship.

Required profile

• Mobile Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate (Cert 3 Mobile Plant) complemented by a mechanical fitter qualification (HD Mechanic/Fitter).
• OEM experience, preferably with Komatsu equipment, and field service exposure including breakdowns and diagnostics, highly regarded in construction and mining.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to follow the required job scope and critical path, with a safety-focused mindset.
• Good understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office; ability to work unsupervised.
• Working at heights qualification is a plus but not crucial.
