Reservations Agent

About the role

Crowne Plaza Canberra is looking for a full-time Reservations Agent. You will maintain accurate reservation records, help run the day-to-day of the Reservations Department with inquiries and bookings, liaise with key departments, build client relationships and show excellent phone and customer service skills under the guidance of the Reservations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Help run the Reservations Department efficiently, optimising hotel occupancy and average rate
• Create a positive hotel image and deliver the highest standard of customer service
• Maintain detailed knowledge of departmental standards and procedures
• Handle guest complaints promptly and resolve them to the guest's satisfaction
• Keep accurate reports of booking correspondence and stay up to date on changes to accounting policies and procedures
• Work professionally with colleagues and guests from different cultures and countries
• Attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as scheduled
• Develop rapport with regular clients and booking agents

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent, or 2 years' hospitality experience with Front Office/Reservations experience
• Working rights in Australia; overseas applicants must state their visa status
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, able to manage tight deadlines and priorities
• Flexible and adaptable to change

Required skills

• Knowledge of Opera PMS preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good grasp of basic maths and computer skills
