Research Assistant – Health and Identity Lab

About the role

The Research Assistant contributes to the research and administrative work of the Health and Identity Lab (led by Professor Tegan Cruwys), with a focus on the NHMRC project "Effective community solutions to prevent and treat loneliness". The position is classified as ANU Officer 4 (Research), is casual and full-time, and is based in Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Manage or support ethics and governance processes, event organisation, budgeting and purchasing, data preparation and analysis, and the drafting of documents such as grant applications.
• Assist in designing and running qualitative and quantitative studies and analysing data, including fieldwork where needed.
• Help prepare research profiles, papers and literature reviews, and perform library, internet and literature searches and bibliography preparation.
• Create, test, maintain and manage relevant databases.
• Undertake testing and statistical analysis and prepare analysis reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funders.
• Monitor sources to identify funding opportunities and support on-budget delivery of the project.
• Coordinate team meetings, stakeholder communications and travel and events, and take part in workshops and professional networks.
• Perform other duties consistent with the classification level and comply with ANU policies, including work health and safety and equal opportunity.

Required profile

• Right to live and work in Australia; mandatory pre-employment declarations and background checks apply.
• Ability to work under the direction of Professor Tegan Cruwys and with staff in the School of Medicine and Psychology and the College of Science and Medicine.
