Reliability Engineer – Heavy Mobile Equipment

About the role

Fortescue is seeking a motivated Reliability Engineer to join the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) team at the Eliwana mine. In this full‑time position you will provide technical and engineering expertise to support data‑driven maintenance decisions, optimise equipment performance and drive reliability outcomes across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with supervisors and workshop teams to deliver practical engineering solutions and continuous improvement.
• Analyse maintenance data and KPIs to identify trends and implement targeted corrective actions.
• Provide reliability engineering support aligned with maintenance strategies and Whole‑of‑Life plans.
• Lead root‑cause analyses for recurring failures and implement sustainable solutions.
• Optimise maintenance planning and critical spares to improve HME performance and reliability.

Required profile

• Experience in a heavy mobile maintenance environment (preferred).
• Exposure to mineral processing or similar industrial settings (advantageous).
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant trade certification.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, preferably SAP.
