Relationship Manager, Premier Banking - Melbourne
cba · VIC Eastern Suburbs Area
Job description
About the role
Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, serving personal and small business customers across Australia. Premier Banking supports customers with more sophisticated financial needs through a dedicated relationship management model, working with high net worth customers on home and investment lending, deposits, everyday banking and specialist expertise. As a Premier Relationship Manager in Melbourne, you will manage and grow a portfolio of high net worth customers, owning the relationship end to end.
Key responsibilities
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with high net worth customers by understanding their financial position, priorities and goals.
- Manage customers holistically across lending, deposits, everyday banking and broader financial needs.
- Deliver quality financial health checks and use customer and portfolio insights to identify opportunities.
- Structure and support complex home and investment lending solutions, maintaining ownership throughout the customer journey.
- Grow and retain customer deposits while helping customers make informed decisions about their overall banking relationship.
- Proactively manage the portfolio through regular customer contact rather than waiting for a banking need to arise.
- Develop new-to-bank and new-to-Premier relationships through referrals, existing CommBank networks and external relationships.
- Partner with Associates and specialist teams such as business banking, investments, financial advice and protection to connect customers with the right expertise.
- Take ownership of customer needs and follow through on commitments, and stay curious about customers, the portfolio and the market.
Required profile
- At least 2 years' experience in complex mortgage lending.
- Strong experience building and managing customer relationships in banking, financial services or a similar environment.
- Experience working across a diversified range of products and customer needs, rather than focusing solely on lending.
- Commercial capability and confidence in identifying opportunities to grow and deepen customer relationships.
- A strong customer mindset and a track record of delivering high-quality, personalised service.
- Ability to take ownership, work autonomously and collaborate with colleagues, referral partners and specialists.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, portfolio-based environment while maintaining a high standard of customer experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Certificate IV in lending or equivalent.
- Accreditation across deposit products and general insurance.
What we offer
- A career centred on relationships, supported by Associates, experienced leaders and specialist teams.
- Investment in technology and tools that give greater visibility across the portfolio.
- A clear performance framework, development opportunities and career pathways.
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements where role requirements allow.
