Rehabilitation Consultant - Registered Psychologist or Rehab Counsellor

About the role

IPAR, a national occupational rehabilitation provider, is hiring a Rehabilitation Consultant in Port Macquarie, NSW. The role suits registered psychologists or rehabilitation counsellors and offers flexibility, autonomy and the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team. It covers a wide range of schemes such as Workers Compensation, CTP, Life Insurance, Comcare, Department of Veterans' Affairs and employer-funded programs, delivering occupational rehabilitation to clients with physical and psychological conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a manageable caseload with support from Rehabilitation Assistants
• Apply clinical expertise to improve return-to-work outcomes
• Partner with employers and employees to deliver injury prevention and workplace education programs
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, insurers and healthcare professionals
• Conduct initial assessments, workplace assessments and functional capacity assessments
• Identify barriers and design practical solutions to support recovery and return to work

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling
• General or provisional registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with ASORC
• Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is desirable but not essential; new graduates and early-career professionals are welcomed
• Current NSW driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
