Registered Nurse (Year 2 - 8) - Hospital in the Home

About the role

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is recruiting a Registered Nurse (Year 2 - 8) for its Hospital in the Home (HITH) service. HITH provides acute hospital-level care to patients in their own homes as a safe alternative to inpatient admission. The shift is a 7-day rotating roster (08:00 - 16:30 or 11:30 - 20:00) and the salary is $86,183.34 - $114,771.98 plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, including individuals, families and communities.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care collaboratively to achieve health goals and optimal outcomes.
• Practice in line with NSW Health guidelines, local policies and protocols.
• Lead and coordinate nursing and healthcare across settings, including referrals and collaboration with other professionals and services.
• Practice independently and collaboratively, delegating care appropriately based on staff education, training and context.

Required profile

• Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (division 1) with AHPRA.
• Current NSW unrestricted driver's licence (class C or above) to attend clients' homes with the provided car.
• Experience in community healthcare settings is highly desired.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and manage competing workloads in a complex environment.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australia visa granting work rights; visa sponsorship is not available.
