Registered Nurse – Justice Department

About the role

The Department of Justice is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the health services team at Casuarina Prison. You will provide direct nursing care to offenders, working within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to inmates, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical standards.
• Collaborate with correctional staff and other health professionals to support rehabilitation and security goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and operate within the Department’s governance framework.
• Participate in communication improvement initiatives and model integrity in all interactions.

Required profile

• Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
• Strong clinical assessment abilities and sound judgment in patient care.
• Commitment to excellent nursing standards and patient safety.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
