Registered Nurse (Grade 2) - Cardiac Cath Lab

About the role

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is recruiting a Grade 2 Registered Nurse for its cardiac catheterisation laboratory in Fitzroy. The nurse delivers expert clinical care under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager, ensuring professional development so that patients receive a safe, empathetic and exceptional procedural experience. This is a challenging and rewarding fixed-term opportunity until mid-2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert clinical care in the cardiac cath lab and support the physical and emotional safety of patients during their procedure
• Scout and scrub for cardiac procedures such as angiograms, PCI, pacing, cardiac biopsy and structural heart
• Participate in on-call duties within 40 minutes outside business hours
• Take part in department education and meetings

Required profile

• Degree in general nursing meeting the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Current nursing registration with AHPRA
• Cardiology or critical care experience is essential
• Cath lab experience is preferred
• Current national criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one
• Willingness to complete mandatory vaccinations, including the flu shot, and to meet the Victorian government COVID-19 vaccination direction
