Registered Nurse (Grade 2) - Aged Care Mental Health

About the role

Prague House, a specialised aged care facility in Kew supporting older people living with a mental health diagnosis or acquired brain injury, is recruiting a Registered Nurse (Grade 2). The role sits within St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne Continuing Care Services and offers a friendly, supportive team environment. Permanent part-time positions are available on the PM shift.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to older persons with complex physical, cognitive and mental health needs in a homelike, therapeutic setting.
• Deliver person-centred care that promotes independence and quality of life.
• Supervise Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Workers to ensure high-quality care.
• Contribute to a positive therapeutic environment that supports recovery, resilience and community participation.

Required profile

• Motivated and experienced Registered Nurse with compassion and clinical excellence.
• Commitment to person-centred practice, working with residents, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, sound judgement and excellent communication.
• Current Nursing Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRAD.
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary mental health nursing practice, recovery-oriented care and trauma-informed principles.
• Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and clinical risk management principles.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.
