Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

Mount Isa Hospital's Emergency Department is the frontline of healthcare for the North West region, caring for patients with urgent and emergency health needs. As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred care alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, developing your emergency nursing capabilities and supporting patients and communities across rural and remote Queensland.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licence
• C Class motor vehicle licence
• Pre-employment screening, including criminal history checks
• As a VPD risk role, evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis may be required
• A period of probation may apply

What we offer

• Isolation bonus: AUD$3,714 for 1 year, AUD$11,140 for 2 years, AUD$7,426 for each subsequent year (pro rata for part-time)
• 2 return airfares per year to the nearest east coast provincial city for full-time employees, or 1 for part-time, during recreation leave

• 2 weeks' annual leave, travel as required, and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses
• Staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months
