Registered Midwife – Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)

About the role

Mercy Health is launching a new Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) at Werribee Mercy Hospital and is looking for enthusiastic midwives to join its inaugural team. The MGP provides continuity of care for women and birthing people across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, and you will help shape and embed this model of care. You will work on call within a small, supportive team, with autonomy supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuity of care to women throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey
• Practice across the full scope of midwifery care in a flexible, autonomous model
• Build trusting relationships with families and strengthen continuity, connection and trust
• Work on call with a multidisciplinary team

Required profile

• Registered Midwife with AHPRA registration
• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Midwife
• Level 3 FSEP
• Full driver's licence
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently
• Commitment to safe, respectful and culturally responsive care
• Experience in caseload midwifery or MGP is highly regarded but not essential
• Endorsed midwives are encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Advanced midwifery skill set including perineal suturing, IV cannulation, newborn discharge check and domiciliary care
• Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders
