Registered Midwife - Birth Suite, Antenatal & Postnatal

About the role

St Vincent's Private Maternity Service, Fitzroy, is looking for Registered Midwives for permanent full-time and part-time positions in its newly upgraded maternity service. The service offers compassionate, individualised care to women, newborns and their families, with ICU capabilities, senior midwife and nursing leader support, and collaboration with specialist physicians and obstetricians. Opportunities exist to work across Birth Suite, Antenatal/CTG Clinic and Postnatal Care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, provide and evaluate individualised midwifery care for women and their babies within a multidisciplinary team.
• In Birth Suite and Antenatal/CTG: care for normal and complex presentations, including inductions, epidurals, instrumental and caesarean births, VBAC, high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies, plus antenatal assessment and CTG surveillance.
• In Postnatal: care on the postnatal floor, including night duty.
• Take part in ongoing education such as FSEP, CTG education, maternal and neonatal resuscitation, obstetric emergency simulation and PROMPT training.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife.
• Dedication to patient-focused, team-based care, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and flexible work on a rotating roster including weekends and night duty.
• For Birth Suite and Antenatal/CTG: recent hands-on birth suite experience, proficiency in FSEP and resuscitation, and preferred experience in a CTG Clinic or Antenatal Assessment.
• For Postnatal floor: a minimum of 2 years' midwifery experience (excluding a postgraduate year).
