Regional Engineering Director – Sydney

About the role

CBRE is seeking a Regional Engineering Director to lead the engineering function across its Australian and New Zealand portfolio. You will be responsible for the performance, reliability and compliance of all MEP and vertical transport systems in a high‑profile, multi‑city environment.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the ANZ Alliance Director with a dotted‑line to the Global Head of Engineering and FM.
• Oversee engineering infrastructure for client‑owned headquarters, leased corporate real estate and a data centre across ANZ.
• Manage the engineering team to ensure business continuity and high‑performance service delivery.
• Coordinate with Regional Procurement to secure and monitor maintenance contracts.
• Lead supplier governance meetings, monitor contractor performance and supervise subcontractors.
• Negotiate with external partners and suppliers using a risk‑based approach.
• Provide coaching, performance evaluations and development plans for staff.
• Drive recruitment, hiring and daily team coordination, including scheduling and cross‑training.
• Maintain critical equipment and ensure compliance with legislation, alarm management and maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Senior engineering leader with proven experience managing large MEP portfolios.
• Strong data‑driven decision‑making and influence skills.
• Track record of building high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Experience in supplier governance, contract negotiation and regulatory compliance.
