Regional Capital Portfolio Director

About the role

As the Regional Capital Portfolio Director for Alcoa in Perth, you will lead the strategy, governance and delivery of the Australian capital portfolio, influencing investment priorities across multiple sites and ensuring safe, reliable, value‑focused outcomes for one of Australia’s leading resources businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Australian capital strategy, balancing investment, risk and value across operating sites.
• Provide executive oversight of the Baseload Capital Portfolio, including sustaining, regulatory, safety, reliability and value‑creating projects.
• Strengthen capital governance, decision gates, project controls, cost management, scheduling, risk management and reporting.
• Partner with operational, finance, procurement, engineering and global capital project leaders to align priorities and improve delivery outcomes.
• Build regional capability, support talent growth and maintain strong relationships with engineering and construction partners.

Required profile

• Extensive leadership experience in capital projects, engineering or asset‑intensive industries with responsibility for multi‑site regional portfolios.
• Proven success leading large, complex teams and collaborating with external engineering and construction partners.
• Strong expertise in capital project execution, governance, front‑end loading, project controls and portfolio management.
• Ability to influence enterprise‑level strategy while staying connected to operational delivery realities.
• Track record of improving safety, cost, schedule and value outcomes in complex industrial environments.
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications with significant project management experience.
